Effective 5 October 2026
eFoilcast is operated by Conifer Labs LLC ("we"). This page says what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as the product needs and we do not sell data.
What we collect
- Account: name, email, and either a salted password hash or your Google account id if you sign in with Google. We never see your Google password.
- What you add: saved spots, scoring preferences, display units, ride reports (spot, time, water state, rating, notes), photos, feedback, and reports of other people's posts.
- Photos: resized in your browser before upload, which removes camera metadata including GPS location. They are stored on a public URL; anyone with the link can view them.
- Technical: the approximate location derived from your IP address centres the map on first load and is not stored. Aggregate, cookie-free usage statistics come from Vercel Web Analytics. Standard server logs are kept briefly for debugging.
What is public
Ride reports marked public appear on the spot page and in Recent rides with your display name, the date, and any notes and photos. Private reports are visible only to you and are used in aggregate to calibrate the forecast. Your email is never shown.
Who processes it
Vercel (hosting, photo storage, analytics), Neon (database), Resend (transactional email such as password resets), and Google (sign-in, if you choose it). Forecast providers (Open-Meteo, NOAA) receive spot coordinates, not anything about you.
Your choices
- Edit or delete any ride report from its card.
- Delete your account in Settings: it removes your account, reports, photos and preferences immediately.
- Email foilcast@coniferlabs.com for anything else, including a copy of your data.
Other things
eFoilcast is for riders 16 and over. We keep data until you delete it. We will update this page when the practice changes and note the date above.
